A great education isn't only about teachers and schools. Parental involvement in a child's educational experience is extremely important. When parents get involved, they help build a true "school community" where children can thrive. There are many opportunities for parents to get involved either as a volunteer or a co-chair, and lots of help is needed throughout the year. Everything from our Plant Sale and Pie Sale, to our Pumpkin Fair, Trunk or Treat, Meet the Masters Art Appreciation Program, Teacher Appreciation Week & Luncheons, 3rd Grade Events like the Grandfriends' Tea, and so much more! Please complete the Volunteer Interest form below and we will be in touch with you to confirm if you have been selected. Please note: in order to be a volunteer for the school, you must be a PTO Member in good standing.

Are you a working parent looking for quick and easy ways to get involved? Here are some helpful suggestions on volunteer opportunities with short time commitments, or in the evening.

Short on time, but want to help? There will be also be many other opportunities throughout the year to contribute, both in terms of food/supplies or monetary donations to help run our events and programs. No amount is too small, and every little bit helps. Thank you in advance for all your support in making this a great year for our kids...we couldn't do this without you!

Important reminders for all PTO volunteers.

Important Reminders to Tisdale PTO Volunteers:

While we all love having the opportunity to come into the school and volunteer with our children’s classes, it is critical that a few guidelines are adhered to, so we can maintain the privilege to do so:

1. The Ramsey Board of Education requires that all volunteers have a current background check on file with the District. Background checks are valid for 5 years. If you need to apply for one, or are not sure if yours is current, please click here and follow the instructions.
2. Parents volunteering should not bring younger siblings or strollers into the school with them during the school day. When parents come in to volunteer, it is important that their full attention is directed towards the students, so we kindly ask that you please arrange for childcare during that time. The one exception is after school/evening family events, where siblings are typically welcome to join. 
3. All volunteers must check-in at the front office when they arrive and receive a Visitor’s Badge that they keep on display while in the school. If it’s your first time volunteering, please bring a photo ID and allow extra time to be set up in the security system.
4. Volunteers are asked to immediately check out at the front office following their volunteer assignment, and not walk the halls or visit their child’s classroom.
5. Finally, please treat anything you witness among students/teachers during any in-school/in-class events as strictly confidential. Similarly, please ensure that you are not engaging in any discussion of private information about students with other parents or staff. Sensitive information should never be shared with other parents, or discussed openly in school. The students are always listening, and you could be putting a child or their family’s private information at risk. 

We ask that you please respect these guidelines in full, so that we can continue to be invited in as volunteers for these Tisdale programs in the months and years to come. If these guidelines are not being met, you may personally lose your volunteer privileges, or it may put our entire volunteer program at risk. Thank you for all your continued support.
